Care was started in 1984 by a group of physicians. For the first
four years the clinic was mostly used for urgent medical needs.
In 1988 Doctors Urgent Care began a journey of growth that saw changes
in the economy and insurance industry that would challenge not only
the delivery of medicine, but its very existence. Doctors Urgent
Care became committed to delivering quality and affordable health
care that would meet all the challenges of a work force that was
strapped for time and money in the Ohio Valley. Through those challenges
we became a hybrid of an urgent care clinic and providers of family
medical care. We quickly grew into a facility that employed physicians,
nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, radiology technicians
and medical assistants.
The clinic provides medical care with the use
of x-rays, labs and board certified providers. Our providers have
a variety of certifications from ambulatory medicine and family
practice to certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Doctors Urgent Care practitioners are recognized as providers by
all of the local insurance carriers. Doctors Urgent Care is the
only recognized urgent care clinic in the area. We currently see
approximately 20,000 patients a year. We do not take appointments
and are open from 8am to 7pm Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturdays
and closed on Sundays and holidays. For your family and urgent medical
